Poll Workers are responsible for the following tasks on Election Day:
Verifying voter registration
Ensuring voter privacy and ballot secrecy
Managing ballot tabulators & electronic poll book software
Ensuring the accuracy of critical data
Offering instructing on the voting process
Who can serve as a Poll Worker?
A poll worker must be a registered voter in the State of Michigan. Exception: individualsage 16-17 may serve as a Poll Worker!
A poll worker cannot be a challenger, candidate, member of a candidate’s immediate family, or a member of the local Board of Canvassers. Anyone convicted of a felony or an election crime may not serve.
