History

Kevin began his position at the Washtenaw Livingston MCA November 30th, 2020. He retired as of August 1st, 2020 as a Captain/Paramedic with the Canton Fire Department after over 28 years of service. Kevin’s responsibilities included serving as command officer, provision of emergency medical and fire suppression. Other duties included serving as a Hazmat Specialist and Team Leader with Western Wayne County Hazmat, and as a Hazmat and Water Specialist/Rescue Swimmer with Michigan Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue. Kevin is an instructor for EMS and Fire programs at Wayne County Community College and for Hazmat at the Michigan State Police EMHSTC. Kevin also served as a Hospital Corpsman in the US Navy Reserve for eight years (06/2001-06/2009).

Responsibilities 

Kevin is responsible for the administration of the Washtenaw Livingston Medical Control Authority which oversees the emergency medical services in Washtenaw and Livingston Counties. This system includes two advanced life support agencies, 26 fire departments and one medical helicopter service.

Education and Awards

Kevin has earned and AS in Criminal Justice from Schoolcraft College, a BS in Fire Science Management with a concentration in Emergency Health Care from the American Military University, and an MS in Administration from Central Michigan University. Kevin has received multiple lifesaving and unit awards from his service with the Canton Fire Department. He also has received multiple awards from his service in the military to include a campaign award, an overseas service award and an Army Commendation Medal.
