  1. Family Nature Adventures: Water In Our World

    May 15, 2021, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM @ Independence Lake County Park

    In Michigan, we are lucky enough to experience all sorts of water. Marshes, rivers, ponds, and Great Lakes. During this program we’ll discover how water is important to us, the plants, and animals, and we’ll create our own watershed systems on the beach and visit a marsh. Please wear tall boots that can get wet. Program led by Kelsey Dehring on May 12, led by Elle Bogle on May 15. Pre-registration required. 10 people total on each day.   2. Preschool Hike: Explore the Forest Floor

    May 15, 2021, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ County Farm Park

    Explore the living world under logs and beneath leaves. We will meet our six-legged, eight-legged and no-legged friends hidden away in the shadows. We will learn how these humble shredders and decomposers are an essential engine for the entire forest. All creatures will be released at the end of the hike. Program is limited to 10 hikers.   3. Bonus Stewardship Saturday

    May 15, 2021, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Weatherbee Woods Preserve

    Weatherbee Woods Preserve is located on the far western boundary of the Rouge River Watershed. This Saturday, we are teaming up with Friends of the Rouge River for Rouge Rescue. Join us to remove garlic mustard and other invasive plants from the woods in order to improve the habitat for native plants and animals.
