The May 22, 2020 Washtenaw County Board of Health meeting is CANCELLED. The Board of Health works to identify public health problems and concerns in the community, establish health priorities and advise the Board of Commissioners and Washtenaw County Health Department on issues and possible solutions.

PRESERVE CHALLENGE Saturday, September 12th - Sunday, October 11 Various Parks and Preserves The Preserve Challenge is a four week virtual challenge encouraging people to get outside and explore. Join a staff-led event or explore on your own time. Participate by taking a photo or short video of your experience and posting it to social media with #ExploreWashtenaw. If you have a private social media account, email your photo to [email protected]. By sharing your experience, you will be entered to win a prize for each week you participate.

Gather at the Beach Center to hear The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child read by a professional story reader. Enjoy a campfire, s’more’s, boxed apple juice and popcorn while listening to the stories. Parks Naturalist Shawn Severance will lead a Gruffalo Hunt nature hike. Follow a brave little mouse on a hike to discover the houses of woodland creatures…can we find an underground house, a log pile house and a tree top house? Program fee is $5.00 per family/household, up to 4 members. Only one person is needed to register, as the fee is per family/household. The purpose of this meeting is to: receive a report from Hubbell, Roth & Clark on storage elevation recommendations and take any appropriate action; discuss the 2020 assessments and take appropriate action; authorize the payment of all properly presented invoices, vouchers, and drain orders; and any other business that may come before the Board.
