    PRESERVE CHALLENGE Saturday, September 12th - Sunday, October 11 Various Parks and Preserves The Preserve Challenge is a four week virtual challenge encouraging people to get outside and explore. Join a staff-led event or explore on your own time. Participate by taking a photo or short video of your experience and posting it to social media with #ExploreWashtenaw. If you have a private social media account, email your photo to [email protected]. By sharing your experience, you will be entered to win a prize for each week you participate.

    Gather at the Beach Center to hear The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child read by a professional story reader. Enjoy a campfire, s’more’s, boxed apple juice and popcorn while listening to the stories. Parks Naturalist Shawn Severance will lead a Gruffalo Hunt nature hike. Follow a brave little mouse on a hike to discover the houses of woodland creatures…can we find an underground house, a log pile house and a tree top house? Program fee is $5.00 per family/household, up to 4 members. Only one person is needed to register, as the fee is per family/household.
