    PRESERVE CHALLENGE Saturday, September 12th - Sunday, October 11 Various Parks and Preserves The Preserve Challenge is a four week virtual challenge encouraging people to get outside and explore. Join a staff-led event or explore on your own time. Participate by taking a photo or short video of your experience and posting it to social media with #ExploreWashtenaw. If you have a private social media account, email your photo to [email protected]. By sharing your experience, you will be entered to win a prize for each week you participate.

  2. Family Nature Adventures - Sensory Seed Bouquet

    *** MEET AT MEDFORD PAVILION*** Late summer plants are bursting with seeds in all shapes, sizes, and textures. Take a leisurely hike and gather a bouquet while learning some botany along the way. This program will offer information and experiences for children and adults alike. Materials for bouquet gathering will be provided. Led by Elle Bogle. Program is limited to 10 people total.   4. Heckuva Hike

    Watkins Lake State Park & County Preserve

    We’ll trek around 5.5 miles of trail as we wander through a mix of fields, forests, and lakeside. This wellness and fitness hike provides a fairly level terrain and good for the hiker who is starting to expand the length of their hike. Maybe you even want to try carrying a backpack with some extra weight for an additional workout. Please be sure to bring a mask, sunscreen, bug spray, and water. Space is limited to 10 hikers.
