    PRESERVE CHALLENGE Saturday, September 12th - Sunday, October 11 Various Parks and Preserves The Preserve Challenge is a four week virtual challenge encouraging people to get outside and explore. Join a staff-led event or explore on your own time. Participate by taking a photo or short video of your experience and posting it to social media with #ExploreWashtenaw. If you have a private social media account, email your photo to [email protected]. By sharing your experience, you will be entered to win a prize for each week you participate.

  2. Family Archery

    This introductory program to archery covers safety and basic shooting skills. All archery equipment is provided, and no prior archery experience is required. Although there is no age requirement for archery, our instructor recommends that participants be at least 7 years of age and able to pull and hold between 5-8 pounds of tension on the bow for success and safety. Program fee is $10 per family/household, up to 4 members. Only one person is needed to register, as the fee is per family. The check in table will be in our Beach Center parking lot. Three families per 45 minute session. Families will be positioned in their household and in a lane to shoot, however we still ask that family members wear masks during the activity.   3. Incredible Caterpillars! (virtual program)

    Spiny and smooth, colorful and camouflaged, quite hairy and hairless - caterpillars are an amazingly diverse group of animals! We will look at caterpillar traits that help with identification, learn about ways that caterpillars protect themselves, learn various plants eaten by caterpillars and more. Program is geared for adults and for children ages 8 and up, especially children who are already interested in caterpillars. There will be time for questions at the end. Program led by Faye Stoner.
