    PRESERVE CHALLENGE Saturday, September 12th - Sunday, October 11 Various Parks and Preserves The Preserve Challenge is a four week virtual challenge encouraging people to get outside and explore. Join a staff-led event or explore on your own time. Participate by taking a photo or short video of your experience and posting it to social media with #ExploreWashtenaw. If you have a private social media account, email your photo to [email protected]. By sharing your experience, you will be entered to win a prize for each week you participate.

  2. Family Fishing

    Bring the family out for an evening of fishing. Poles, bait, and instruction provided; bring your own poles if you’d like. Anyone 17 or older will need a fishing license. Program fee is $10 per family/household, up to 4 members. Only one person is needed to register, as the fee is per family. The check in table will be placed along the path by the fishing pier. Two families per 45 minute session. Families will be positioned on opposite sides of the fishing dock.If you are interested in registering please go to parksonline.ewashtenaw.org.   3. Stewardship Saturday

    Join us the second Saturday of every month to help the environment and explore new places. Help us improve the diversity of the forest by removing buckthorn with hand tools. Registration is required, but no previous experience is necessary. Be prepared for working off-trail by wearing long pants and closed-toe shoes. Please be sure to bring a mask, drinking water, and anything else you need to work comfortably outside. Workday led by Katie Carlisle. To register, email Katie at [email protected]. Limit is 10 volunteers.

    The Home Toxics Center provides Washtenaw County residents with a disposal option for flammable, poisonous, toxic and corrosive materials.
