  1. Ice Fishing Derby

    February 8, 2020, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ Independence Lake County Park

    Join us for a fun-filled day of competition and prizes. Catch northern pike, blue gill and crappie. Gift cards and other prizes for winners of the longest northern pike and longest pan fish. Bring your own bait and equipment. Lunch will be provided, and vehicle admission is included. No alcohol, ATVs or snowmobiles. Pre-registration before 2/8/2020: $10 for adults, $5 for kids 12 and under. Day of the event, 2/8/2020: $15 for adults, $10 for kids 12 and under.     Join us the second Saturday of every month to help the environment and explore natural spaces! We need your help to maintain the biodiversity of forests at Parker Mill by cutting invasive shrubs. Please dress for the weather and be prepared for working off-trail. Led by Katie Carlisle.

    You must pre-register for the boater safety classes as class sizes are limited. Group enrollment is allowed and encouraged! Please send an email to Deputy Gebauer (gebauerj@washtenaw.org) with your full name(s), date of birth(s), telephone number, and class date that you wish to attend. There are no further steps required for you or your group to register for the class. An email confirmation with additional information concerning the class agenda will be sent back to you, usually within 3 to 5 days. If you are not able to send email please call 734-973-4713 and leave a message with your full name, date of birth and contact number.

  1. CLOSED - No Household Hazardous Waste Collection

    February 8, 2020, All Day

    The SATURDAY Household Hazardous Waste Collections are CLOSED for the season. Please call 734-222-3950 to schedule a weekday drop-off appointment. Please allow at least 48 business hours advance notice to schedule an appointment. The Home Toxics Reduction Program provides Washtenaw County residents with a disposal option for flammable, poisonous, toxic and corrosive materials. Regular collection events are held April through November on the first three Saturdays of the month, 9 a.m. to noon, except for holiday weekends. Visit washtenaw.org/hometoxics for more information.
