The Preserve Challenge is a four week virtual challenge encouraging people to get outside and explore. Join a staff-led event or explore on your own time. Participate by taking a photo or short video of your experience and posting it to social media with #ExploreWashtenaw. If you have a private social media account, email your photo to [email protected] By sharing your experience, you will be entered to win a prize for each week you participate.

Enjoy the vibrant colors of fall as the trees put themselves to bed for the long sleep of winter. We will go on a gentle hike gathering the most beautiful leaves and make a leaf illustrations of our own. Hike led by Shawn Severance. Please bring a mask. Pre-registration is required for everyone attending over the age of 2. We can accept 5 children per section, accompanied by one adult. No unregistered siblings, please! The Saturday Home Toxics Collection Event is CLOSED on October 10th due to a holiday weekend (Indigenous People's Day).
Weekday Drop-Offs are available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 734-222-3950 or visit washtenaw.org/hometoxics to schedule an appointment. Appointments are not necessary, but help us best assist you and ensure we have staff available to take your materials.
The Home Toxics Center provides Washtenaw County residents with a disposal option for flammable, poisonous, toxic and corrosive materials. Saturday Collection Events are held April through November on the first three Saturdays of the month, 9 a.m. to noon, except for holiday weekends. Visit washtenaw.org/hometoxics for more information.
