The Home Toxics Reduction Program provides Washtenaw County residents with a disposal option for flammable, poisonous, toxic and corrosive materials.
Regular collection events are held the first three Saturdays of the month, April through November 9 a.m. to noon, except for holiday weekends. No appointment needed on Saturdays!
If you can't make it to a Saturday collection, please call 734-222-3950 to schedule a weekday drop-off appointment. Please allow at least 48 business hours advance notice to schedule an appointment.

For ages 5-6. Explore the different types of bird beaks and how they are used depending on what foods they consume, then hike with binoculars to look for bids and nests and listen for calls and songs. We will meet at the perennial garden for the beak activity then hike through part of the park. Led by Elle Bogle. Pre-registration is required - 15 children maximum. Painter and printmaker Meleko Mokgosi’s newly commissioned work, "Pan-African Pulp," transforms UMMA’s Vertical Gallery into a multimedia exploration of the history of global Pan-Africanism, a movement with significant history in Detroit. Mokgosi will give a talk at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium.
This fall, UMMA launches a new experimental space, ArtGym, with "Take Your Pick: Collecting Found Photographs." Cast your vote and be part of our crowdsourcing experiment to choose the 250 photographs UMMA will add to our permanent collection.
"Copies and Invention in East Asia," in our Taubman Gallery, will challenge your understanding of originality and delight you with an exploration of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean art spanning ancient to contemporary times.
