  1. Household Hazardous Waste Collection

    August 10, 2019, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

    The Home Toxics Reduction Program provides Washtenaw County residents with a disposal option for flammable, poisonous, toxic and corrosive materials. Regular collection events are held the first three Saturdays of the month, April through November 9 a.m. to noon, except for holiday weekends. No appointment needed on Saturdays! If you can't make it to a Saturday collection, please call 734-222-3950 to schedule a weekday drop-off appointment. Please allow at least 48 business hours advance notice to schedule an appointment.

    This sell-out event is sure to have your family making amazing memories with an overnight adventure in the park. Participants have the option for a 1 or 2 night stay. This event features activities including fishing, crafts, hiking, stargazing, and a campfire with s'mores. Top off the event with a free Sunday morning pancake breakfast.

  2. Night Photo Hike

    Expand your knowledge and learn how to take night photos while hiking with an REI expert and Park Naturalist. Michigan summer nights can be a perfect photo subject or backdrop, and provide a great opportunity to explore nature after sunset. Bring your camera or smartphone. We’ll start with a short lesson on basic photography, then take your new skills to the trails for a guided photo hike. We’ll possibly see meteors from the Perseid Meteor Shower during the evening.     For the first time, Washtenaw County Parks is offering Archery! This intro into archery program is perfect for children who have never shot a bow before.   5. Stewardship Saturday at County Farm Park

    Join us the second Saturday of every month to help the environment, meet like-minded people, be active, and explore. Volunteers will remove invasive plants such as spotted knapweed and Japanese hedge parsley while becoming familiar with native summer wildflowers. No registration or previous experience is necessary. Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Meet at the Medford Pavilion entrance on the west side of County Farm Park (NOT Platt Road). Workday led by Katie Carlisle.
