The Home Toxics Reduction Program provides Washtenaw County residents with a disposal option for flammable, poisonous, toxic and corrosive materials.
Regular collection events are held the first three Saturdays of the month, April through November 9 a.m. to noon, except for holiday weekends. No appointment needed on Saturdays!
If you can't make it to a Saturday collection, please call 734-222-3810 to schedule a weekday drop-off appointment. Please allow at least 48 business hours advance notice to schedule an appointment.

In honor of National Parks & Recreation Month, Washtenaw County Parks would like to challenge residents & non-residents of Washtenaw County to get outside for 31 minutes every day, for 31 days, and "Game On" during the month of July. Participate in all 31 days and you could be entered to win great prizes!
How to submit your photos? Email [email protected] or upload them to our 31-Day Challenge Photo Submission Dropbox (see event page for link). You must include your name, email and place where the photo was taken to be considered for prizes.
In order to have your photo considered for the 31-Day Challenge the photo must include your name and park/preserve or facility you visited, so we can contact you in case you are a winner. By submitting your photo to the Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission event page you understand that any pictures taken of you or your family may be used for future promotion, or may be displayed on Facebook.

Adventure awaits! Run, walk, bike, kayak or canoe your way through any Washtenaw County park, preserve or facility on a virtual voyage. Complete the 5K any way you choose, on your own time during the month of July. Sign up and you'll receive a race bib, and upon completion you'll receive a medal!

Experience the dramatics of glacial geology as we hike to the top of the kame, gaze upon a kettle lake, and roam through oak-hickory forests. Please bring water, and be advised that we will be walking up steep slopes. Hike led by Kelsey Dehring.

Join us the second Saturday of every month to help the environment, meet like-minded people, be active, and explore. Stiltgrass is a new invasive plant to Michigan and Washtenaw County. Early detection is critical in controlling the spread of the non-native grass. We will focus on identification, mapping, and management. Registration is required.
