  1. Household Hazardous Waste Collection

    June 8, 2019, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

    The Home Toxics Reduction Program provides Washtenaw County residents with a disposal option for flammable, poisonous, toxic and corrosive materials. Regular collection events are held the first three Saturdays of the month, April through November 9 a.m. to noon, except for holiday weekends. No appointment needed on Saturdays! If you can't make it to a Saturday collection, please call 734-222-3810 to schedule a weekday drop-off appointment. Please allow at least 48 business hours advance notice to schedule an appointment.

  2. Washtenaw County Clean-Up Day

    June 8, 2019, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

    Dispose of many unwanted household items & chemicals in a safe and sustainable manner. The Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner’s Office and Board of Public Works, as well as several community partners, will be sponsoring Environmental Clean-up Days for Washtenaw County residents.     Children and adults alike are welcome to come and participate in Michigan’s Free Fishing weekend. Poles, bait and instruction provided; bring your own poles if you’d like. No license needed!   2. Stewardship Saturday at Watkins Lake

    Join us the second Saturday of every month to help the environment, meet like-minded people, be active, and explore. Volunteer to remove invasive plants at Watkins Lake Preserve such as Japanese hedge parsley. No registration or previous experience is necessary. Please wear long pants and close-toed shoes.

  3. 2019 Interrupters Kick

    June 8, 2019, 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Perry Child Development Center

    WHAT: Interrupters are volunteers willing to walk door-to-door handing out packets of information as part of a public education campaign to Interrupt the violence in our neighborhoods. WHY: We need to show our young people that the community will not allow for this to continue. We must educate our neighbors on what to look for, how to be safe, and what they can do to Interrupt the violence before it happens. WHO: You, along with law enforcement, elected officials, students, parents, and anyone else willing to stand up for our neighborhoods. Walk for 30 minutes or stay for the entire day. Free "Interrupter" T-shirt, Food Provided! Look for the Mobile Command Center "The Big Truck".
