  1. Household Hazardous Waste Collection

    October 19, 2019, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

    The Home Toxics Reduction Program provides Washtenaw County residents with a disposal option for flammable, poisonous, toxic and corrosive materials. Regular collection events are held the first three Saturdays of the month, April through November 9 a.m. to noon, except for holiday weekends. No appointment needed on Saturdays! If you can't make it to a Saturday collection, please call 734-222-3950 to schedule a weekday drop-off appointment. Please allow at least 48 business hours advance notice to schedule an appointment.

    U-M's Michigan Opioid Prescribing Engagement Network (Michigan OPEN) is partnering with hospitals, pharmacies, community organizations, and police departments across Washtenaw County to host medication take-back events on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. • Ann Arbor: St. Francis Catholic School, 2270 E.     *** Park Lyndon South – meet in the parking lot *** Go on a hike to see the wide variety of wild foods that are in season along with several plants that can be used to make cordage or woven into baskets. Stay after the hike for an optional Cattail Basket Weaving class with Foraging Expert Rachel Mifsud. The hike is free, there is a $20 materials fee for the basket weaving class - please bring cash or check. All materials provided to weave a basket to take home.
