    This sell-out event is sure to have your family making amazing memories with an overnight adventure in the park. Participants have the option for a 1 or 2 night stay. This event features activities including fishing, crafts, hiking, stargazing, and a campfire with s'mores. Top off the event with a Sunday morning pancake breakfast.

  2. Butterflies & Dragonflies Along Embury Rd.

    Meet at Park Lyndon North for introductions and carpooling. We will travel to explore the eastern boundary of the park along Embury Road. Area. We invite you to join to search these diverse habitats and identify our discoveries. Due to limited parking, we will carpool to the nearby site. Binoculars can be helpful. Faye Stoner and Ron Gamble lead this hike.

  3. Perseid Meteor Shower Viewing/Night Sky Mini-Lecture

    August 11, 2018, 9:00 PM - August 12, 2018, 1:00 AM @ Independence Lake County Park

    A peak viewing night to see the Perseid “shooting stars” is tonight and early morning and the park will be open special hours for this program! Naturalist Ron Gamble will give a short talk on meteor shower viewing and on the August night sky in general, starting at 9 at the Beach Center Pavilion. The park will close at 1 a.m. -No overnight stays for this viewing. Program is subject to cancellation if weather is not suitable. Registrants will be notified.     Bring rain garden plants to share – or empty hands if you have an empty rain garden! Please label any plants you bring. Stick around to pull a few weeds from the Rec & Ed Rain Garden and get it looking ship-shape.
