The Borgen Project is a non-profit organization that aims to fight global poverty through advocacy and mobilization efforts. This free/donation-based event will include information regarding volunteer and internship opportunities with our organization. Additionally, we will be going into a brief walk-through on the International Affairs Budget. We will then find our congressional representatives and their contact information, teaching attendees how easy it is to make a difference! There will also be a giveaway at the end of the event where we will be giving 2 $50 gift cards to The Detroit Street Filling Station in Kerrytown. Masks are required and social distancing will be in effect. All are welcome and encouraged to come get informed on global issues!

Immerse yourself in the hum of the late summer woods, allowing the deep olive green, sunflecked flowers and quiet bird songs to connect you to the peace of the present moment. We will hike together in quiet meditation, with pauses for reflection with our hike leader, Doreen Murasky of Mindful Dexter. Parks Naturalist Shawn Severance will share some natural history of the oak forest at the end of the hike. We will hike over gently rolling terrain for approximately ¾ of a mile. Please bring a water bottle, bug spray, and a mask.
