About the Riverbend Preserve
A wide, flat, slow moving section of the River Raisin meanders through Riverbend Preserve. Correspondingly, the property is approximately three-quarters wetlands. Many tamarack trees are found in the riparian zone, with poorly drained soils. The remaining acreage is comprised of dry, upland soils along Hogan Road, ten acres of which remain in agricultural production. The northern portion of the property is bisected by the remains of the Clinton Branch of the Michigan Southern Railroad, running north to south, built in the early 1850s.- Acres: 58

The Riverbend Preserve is operated by the Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission and was purchased through the Natural Areas Preservation Program.
Directions
Directions: From M-52, head east on Austin Road (just south of Manchester), then turn south (right) on Clinton Road for 4.1 miles. Make a sharp right turn onto Allen Road The preserve is immediately on the west side of the road.Alternate route: From U.S.-12, turn north onto Jackson St. (in downtown Clinton), drive for 1.25 miles then turn west (left) onto Allen Road The preserve is immediately on the west side of the road.
