A Note from Commissioner Maciejewski
I hope everyone is enjoying summer. We are six months into the 2023-2024 County Commission session, and I am excited to share actions that have taken place since January. Throughout this year the County Commission has been focused on further strengthening public health and human services, as well as deploying American Rescue Plan Act funds.
One of my top priorities this year has been monitoring the continued roll-out of the initiative to bring broadband internet infrastructure to all residents of the county. Work on the fiscal year 2024 budget continues to progress as well.
This spring the County Commission held a policy retreat that examined improving service delivery, building space usage, park & recreation initiatives, environmental issues and sustainability. I expect this work will result in improvements to how our county operates and our impact for residents.
As we continue through 2023 I plan to issue quarterly updates on the goal of building a stronger Washtenaw County. I encourage you to engage with county government and make your voice heard. Please contact me with your questions and comments.
Sincerely,
Jason Maciejewski
County Commissioner, District 1
