[ARCHIVED] PFAS - Statewide Study

PFAS text over beakers filled with colorful liquids

The Michigan PFAS Action Response Team (MPART) recently published the final report from last year’s statewide per- and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) sampling of community, school, child care provider, and tribal water supplies. This study is the first of its kind in the nation, and marks Michigan’s quick action to address PFAS contamination. A total of 1,723 public water systems statewide were sampled, and tests were run for 14 different PFAS compounds. Test results show that roughly 90 percent of these supplies showed no detection for PFAS. The report can be found on the MPART website, along with additional information on PFAS in Michigan.
