WASHTENAW COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

PUBLIC NOTICE – SEEKING CITIZEN VOLUNTEERS FOR THE 

Washtenaw County Youth Commission


The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners is looking for citizens to volunteer for positions on the Youth Commission. The Board of Commissioners will make these appointments at its upcoming session on October 16, 2019 at 6:45 p.m. in the Board Room, Administration Building, 220 North Main Street, Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Youth must express interest by SEPTEMBER 6, 2019 to be recommended to the Board of Commissioners for its consideration on October 16, 2019. These appointments will become effective October 16, 2019. These appointments include:


-    Washtenaw County Youth Commission – The Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to fill twenty-one (21) positions total: 2 to represent each of the nine commissioner districts (18 total), plus 3 member-at-large positions. Appointees to the Youth Commission must be ages 13 through 18, and will be appointed for a 9-month term expiring June 3, 2020. The Youth Commission is responsible for assessing and exploring youth issues in the community through surveys, focus groups, interviews, and town hall meetings; analyzing youth issues, educating youth about important issues affecting their community, and making recommendations to the Board of Commissioners for the County to improve its youth services.
