On Thursday, April 4th the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners held a special Working Session meeting at the Sylvan Township Hall to discuss Broadband Inequity and Teen Mental Health in Washtenaw County.
The agenda items for Broadband Inequity included:
- The Washtenaw County Broadband Subcommittee was on hand to summarize their recommendations for this broadband inequity that plagues so many of our western Washtenaw neighbors.
- Chelsea Public School staff provided insight on the impact of broadband access on students and the educational system.
- Lyndon Township leaders reviewed the actions they have taken to provide broadband access to their residents
The agenda items for Teen Mental Health included:
- The Board learned about the status of teen mental health from a local high school student.
- Dexter schools provided information on their efforts to address this issue.
- Information and data from local experts in this field was also presented at the meeting.
The meeting was well attended with many speaking on these important topics in our communities.
