[ARCHIVED] Portage/Baseline Lake Level Raising Begins 03/29/19

Portage-Baseline Lake Raising

PORTAGE AND BASELINE LAKE LEVELS TO BE RAISED BEGINNING MARCH 29, 2019

The lake level at Portage and Baseline Lakes will be raised beginning March 29, 2019 and will continue gradually until it reaches its normal legal level of 851.54, estimated to be around April 8th (conditions permitting), according to Evan Pratt, Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner.

Each winter the lake level is lowered for shoreline protection.  Homeowners in the Portage and Baseline Lake areas are cautioned to prepare for the raising of the lake level, which is coordinated with opening of the MDNR boat launch facilities.
