The Washtenaw County Health Department is pleased to share its 2018 Annual Report with the entire community.
In 2018, the Washtenaw County Health Department provided thousands of clinical visits and environmental health inspections. We helped thousands of families access healthy food and worked to build foundations for residents to live healthy lifestyles. We took action against new and reemerging health threats including PFAS, hepatitis A, and measles.
Within all of our decision-making, we centered a vision for health equity. The annual report highlights our work with the MacArthur Boulevard neighborhood, one of six priority areas that faces some of the greatest health inequities in the county. We’ve supported the formation of a tenants association and a partnership of organizational allies, who together have advocated for better housing conditions, improvements to food access and nearby parks, and support for residents dealing with mental health issues and trauma.
We’re honored to serve as your local public health department, and we look forward to continuing to work together to ensure all in our community have the opportunity to live their healthiest lives.
