Seasonal Drain Maintenance Laborers:
| JOB SUMMARY |
| Under the supervision of a higher classified employee, performs on-site maintenance on drains and lake level control structures at various locations throughout Washtenaw County to ensure proper operation and safety. Performs physical drain maintenance and repair work, including removal of brush, sediment, and debris, pipe installation and repair, and storm water structure repair. Operates and maintains chain saw, brush chipper, weed whip, other small mechanized equipment and various hand tools. Inspects and installs soil erosion and sedimentation control measures. May be assigned to operate a boom mower or front end loader tractor under supervision. Assists Drain Inspectors with inspections and response to citizen work requests. Reports on the daily progress of assigned tasks; desirable to have good interpersonal skills. |
