The safety of our residents and our employees is a priority
for Washtenaw County Government, therefore, based on the best information
provided and given the potential for dangerously negative temperatures beginning early Wednesday morning and lasting throughout the day,
out of an abundance of caution, all non-essential Washtenaw County operations will be closed for January 30th & 31, 2019.
Please call 911 if you have an emergency that requires
immediate assistance.
Should you have an appointment with a county office, please contact that department directly to reschedule.
All non-essential county personnel are advised to stay home for their safety and allow us to resume normal operations February 1, 2019.
With that being said, I want to remind you of the resources available to those members of our community who may need them. Our Office of Community and Economic Development, in collaboration with the Shelter Association, has a number of emergency warming centers available, please freely share this information with anyone who may require it. Additionally, I’ve heard that many of our local communities are converging to provide warming centers in their areas, as well. Please familiarize yourself with what your respective community offers, because you never know when you may encounter someone who could benefit from having that as their only option.
