WASHTENAW COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
PUBLIC NOTICE – SEEKING CITIZEN VOLUNTEERS FOR
Washtenaw County Food Policy Council


The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners is looking for citizens to volunteer for positions on various committees and councils. The Board of Commissioners will make this appointment at its upcoming session on September 5, 2018 at 6:45 p.m. in the Board Room, Administration Building, 220 North Main Street, Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Individuals interested in applying should submit a letter of interest and resume, including a home address, to the Washtenaw County Clerk’s office, Attention: Appointments, P.O. Box 8645, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48107. Letters and resumes may also be submitted via email to p[email protected], via fax (734) 222-6528, or apply online at https://secure.ewashtenaw.org/bocdob/apply.do.

Those resumes received by AUGUST 24, 2018 will be submitted to the Board of Commissioners for its consideration on September 5, 2018. The appointments will become effective September 5, 2018. These appointments include:



-Washtenaw County Food Policy Council – The Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to fill three (3) positions to serve in the following sectors: Planning, Nutrition, Human Services, Faith-Based Organization, Funding, Labor, Transportation, Food Retail, and Education, one for the remainder of a two-year term expiring December 31, 2018 and two for the remainder of two-year terms expiring December 31, 2019. Council members must be available to attend meetings on a Monday of the odd months from 3-5PM, must attend 2 outreach events per calendar year, and participate in a committee and/or a Policy Action Team. The Food Policy Council was established in 2012 to develop a healthy community and thriving local food system. When writing a letter of interest, indicate which sector you are applying for. Appointed Council members will be expected to attend the September 10 and November 5 meetings [3-5pm at Food Gatherers (Food Gatherers Board Room, 1 Carrot Way, Ann Arbor 48105)], as well as the TBD 2019 meetings.
