WASHTENAW COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

PUBLIC NOTICE – SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR THE BROWNFIELD REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners is looking for individuals to volunteer for two (2) positions on the Washtenaw County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. The Board of Commissioners will make these appointments at its upcoming session on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023, at 7:00 p.m.  

Individuals interested in applying should apply online at https://ewashtenaw.formstack.com/forms/board_application. Interested parties may alternatively submit a letter of interest and resume, including a home address, to the Washtenaw County Clerk’s office, Attention: Appointments, P.O. Box 8645, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48107. Letters and resumes may also be submitted via email to [email protected], or via fax at (734) 222-6528. 

Those resumes received by Tuesday, June 27th, 2023, will be submitted to the Board of Commissioners for its consideration on July 5th. The appointments will become effective immediately. Appointment information below:

  • Brownfield Redevelopment Authority – The Board of Commissioners is looking to fill two (2) positions representing County Municipalities. Each vacant position has a partial term. One position has a term expiring on December 31, 2023. The other position has a term expiring on December 31, 2024. The Brownfield Redevelopment Authority was established in 1999 in conformity with Act 381 of 1996, as amended. The purpose of this Authority is to facilitate the redevelopment of blighted, contaminated, or obsolete sites, consistent with the participating community’s commitment to sustainability and its vision for the future. The authority has supported the redevelopment of 1,059 acres of property; completed and active projects represent $430 million of new investment and the creation/retention of 3,900+ jobs.
