E2P2 Rain Garden Leadership Award Winner- Leslie Kellman


The Environmental Excellence Partnership Program (E2P2) recognizes leaders in environmental protection. Annual awards are given for notable efforts in water quality protection, waste reduction and recycling, and pollution prevention.  Award winners have gone above and beyond to do what is best for the environment.

Leslie Kellman has become a mentor for generations of rain gardeners over the years She has given advice and shown new gardeners how it is done by sharing her beautiful rain garden with the community. Hundreds of people have visited her gorgeous garden and listened to her presentation about her experiences. 

Through her leadership within the Master Rain Gardener class, she has hosted field trips in her yard most years since 2016. Leslie has also presented to students both in-person and online, taught portions of the class, and mentored countless new rain gardeners through the Master Rain Gardener Facebook group. 

Leslie has been a public face of rain gardens  - presenting to A2 Sustainability Committee Pollinator Subcommittee, to local Garden Clubs, and to 2,000 third graders during Rural Education Days. Leslie has appeared on the Lucy Ann Lance radio show talking about rain gardens and adopted the Rec & Ed rain garden for a year.
