Rolling Hills Water Park Concession Building Renovation

Rolling Hills Concession Stand

In 2013, the expansion of the Waterpark increased patron capacity. This increased capacity resulted in higher demands on the concession stand operations, which directly impacted timely food delivery levels.

In the past few years, staff recognized adjustments needed to be made to the concessions service delivery, both operationally and physically.  In 2021, staff enlisted the help of an architectural consultant to conduct an analysis of the existing space configurations, demands of food preparation and delivery process, as well as overall “flow” of the building interior.

Later in 2021, Park staff hired a contractor to complete the work highlighted in the construction plans developed by the architect. The general scope of work entailed:

  • demolition and renovation to existing masonry wall structures,
  • relocation of concession service windows,
  • custom kitchen equipment and countertop reconfigurations,
  • installation of new walk-in refrigeration coolers and freezer units,
  • modifications to mechanical systems,
  • painting,
  • new concrete flatwork,
  • chain link fencing, and
  • site restoration.

Work was completed in spring 2022 and patrons have been enjoying an improved concession experience this summer!
