Barrier Busters Network Continues to Assist with Emergent Needs, 3rd Quarter Report Available Now

The Barrier Busters 3rd Quarter Report provides information about the type of funding requests distributed to Washtenaw County residents from July 1 - September 30, 2021. Highlights include: 

  • 45.3% of total requests in the third quarter assisted utility costs, compared to 66% of total requests toward utilities in the second quarter of 2021.
  • 60.2% of total countywide requests in the third quarter supported Black households, an increase of 28.5% compared to the second quarter of 2021.
  • 44.2% of countywide requests in the third quarter supported households with children.

Barrier Busters is a group of 100+ social service agencies committed to improving services and responding to emergencies for Washtenaw County residents in need. Each member agency identifies a “Barrier Buster” who is an agency's point of contact and facilitates collaborative case management between member agencies.
