ANN ARBOR, MI – The parking lot at the popular Nelson Meade County Farm Park is expected to close on Monday, September 13, for lot restoration. The park, located at 2230 Platt Road in Ann Arbor, will be open throughout the month-long project but the parking lot will not be accessible. Visitors can park on the west side of the park at the Medford Road lot or park at Meri Lou Murray Recreation Center and follow the signed path to the park.
The scope of the work, approved by the Washtenaw County Park and Recreation Commission, includes reconstructing and expanding the Platt Road parking lot at County Farm Park, expanding the eastern area of the parking lot at Meri Lou Murray Recreation Center, and installing a new, separate driveway to improve access to the Parks maintenance building from Platt Road.
The project also includes rebuilding the non-motorized pathway along Washtenaw Avenue. It is anticipated that all three projects will take about four to five weeks to complete, less restoration tasks.
