[ARCHIVED] Washtenaw County Health Department Rescinds Public Health Emergency Order


The Washtenaw County Health Department is rescinding the local public health emergency order placing additional limits on social gatherings and organized events within the cities of Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. This order originally went into effect on August 20, 2020 and will be rescinded effective 11:59 PM on March 4, 2021. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ updated Gatherings and Face Mask Order is effective March 5, 2021 at 12:01 AM. 

As of March 3, 2021, Washtenaw County’s positivity rate is currently at 1.6% and case rates have had a 30-day downward trend. 

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has Epidemic Orders in place that limit gatherings and organized event capacity across the state. These orders should continue to be observed in Washtenaw County to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
