Find out in this video excerpt from the Water Roundtable held on September 16, 2020 as part of the award-winning National Association of Counties Water 101: “What You Need to Know Below and Beyond” Salem-South Lyon District Library - discussion program. Brian Jonckheere (Livingston Co DC) explains what Water Resources Commissioners Do besides drains.

"In honor of National United Infrastructure Week, we'll be asking questions about PFAS and contaminant prevention, stormwater management, meter accuracy, well safety, and much more from four local water municipalities. Moderated by South Lyon Community Television, we'll also be accepting questions from the audience. Please register to attend via Zoom, but viewing and comments will also be available through our Facebook page. Attendees include:

* Douglas Varney, Director of the Department of Public Works and Utilities for the City of South Lyon
* Jim Nash, Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner
* Evan N. Pratt, P.E., Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner
* Brian Jonckheere, Livingston County Water Drain Commissioner

This program is being held in conjunction with this year's Great Michigan Read What the Eyes Don't See by Mona Hanna-Attisha. Copies are available for reading from your library. The 2019-2020 Great Michigan Read is presented by Michigan Humanities and supported by national, statewide, and local partners, including the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Meijer Foundation."
