[ARCHIVED] New Partnership and Program Supports Renters to Prevent Eviction

Text that reads "NEW Eviction Diversion & Prevention Program"

Washtenaw County OCED is partnering with Housing Access for Washtenaw County (HAWC) and Legal Services of South Central Michigan (LSSCM) to administer a new Eviction Diversion and Prevention (EDP) program. The EDP program connects individuals to financial assistance to cover back rent to landlords and to legal assistance to ensure renters understand their options and how to protect themselves.

This program is designed to assist renters in our community facing increased financial hardship due to COVID-19. While eviction moratoriums on the federal and state level protected individuals from eviction through July; those protections have ended.

This program is funded through a variety of sources including Emergency Solution Grants and  Coronavirus Relief Funds through MSHDA. Support is available for low and moderate income households in Washtenaw County.

Connect with HAWC for rental assistance by calling 734-961-1999
