The State of Michigan has allocated $100 million of CARES Act funding to support small businesses in our state in response to the economic impact of COVID-19. This funding is now available through the
Michigan Small Business Restart Program to businesses and nonprofits with 50 or fewer employees. Applicants must demonstrate the following:
- They are in an industry that has been directly impacted by the COVID-19 emergency
- They are in need of working capital to support payroll expenses, rent, mortgage payments, utility expenses, or other similar expenses
- They have experienced an income loss as result of the COVID-19 emergency.
Small businesses can apply for these grants until August 5th. Local applications will be accepted, reviewed, and approved by
Ann Arbor Spark. At least 30 percent of the funds awarded under this program will be provided to women-owned, minority-owned or veteran-owned eligible businesses.
