Winter Field Botany & Seed Processing

The late-ripening seeds of the prairie are an important source of food for winter wildlife and a wonderful opportunity to collect seed for prairie restoration projects.  We will go on short hike to identify native plants in their winter form, collect seeds, then return indoors to process and stratify seed for winter storage.  This hike is part of our Seed to Community Series. Hike led by Shawn Severance.  Hike limited to 18 people.  Registration required, email [email protected]
