Winter Stonefly Search on the Huron River

Saturday, February 1, 2020

Winter Stonefly Search, - Saturday, February 1, 2020, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM There are two starting times: 9:00 am or 10:30am. This event takes about 4 hours; approximately half of that is outside. Join a small team of friends, family and other volunteers at the Huron River Watershed Council’s Winter Stonefly Search. Stoneflies are particularly sensitive to changes in habitat and water quality. These insects tell us how healthy the river system is and where we need to focus our restoration efforts. Winter, when predatory fish are sluggish, is the ideal time to look for stoneflies. You can help protect our local water and give back to the community by contributing your time to this important and long-running stream monitoring study. REGISTER with HRWC by 1/24/20.
