Robert Domeier (Dr. Bob) has worked as an Emergency Physician at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital since 1987 and is part of the faculty of the SJMH / UMMC Emergency Medicine Residency Program. He has served as the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Medical Director for the Washtenaw / Livingston Medical Control Authority since 1999. He is an Assistant Fellowship Director for the EMS Fellowship at Wayne State University School of Medicine.
Projects & Initiatives
Dr. Domeier is active in regional EMS initiatives chairing the Region 2 South Healthcare Coalition planning board and the Region 2 South Trauma Network. He provides medical oversight for critical care transport units for Huron Valley Ambulance and Livingston County EMS and is the Medical Director for HVA’s Educational division providing initial education for EMS providers.
Dr. Domeier also has an active interest in EMS research which began with projects looking at ways to improve EMS care in his local system. His research interests have included critical care transport, EMS spine injury assessment, EMS trauma care, emergency airway management, CPR techniques and genetic and social factors contributing to the development of chronic pain syndromes.
