Become a Barrier Buster

Membership Benefits

Becoming a Barrier Busters Network Member gives access to the following benefits:

  • Monthly Meetings – Network members meet virtually monthly for community presentations, case conferencing, and networking. Past monthly meetings and presentations can be found on the Meeting Presentations link. There is a possibility of an in-person meeting option in the future.
  • Barrier Busters Listserv – An email group consisting of 400+ front-line staff. It is a powerful tool for getting resource and referral recommendations, job postings, and community program updates and alerts. Calendar invites to the Monthly Meetings are also shared through the Listserv.
  • Encompass - The online emergency request system where one submits emergency assistance requests.
  • DTE Online Resources for Agencies – A DTE account look up tool where account information can be reviewed and shut-off holds can be placed.

How To Become a Barrier Buster

To access Network benefits, you must complete a one-time mandatory new member orientation. Orientations are scheduled on the fourth Wednesday of every month, 11AM-Noon from January-October, or the third Wednesday during November-December. In addition to the orientation, aspiring members must also agree to the Barrier Busters Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) terms and conditions. Links to both orientation sign up and the MOU are located below.
