Passport Cards
If you are interested in applying for a US Passport Card in lieu of or in addition to a US Passport Book:
The passport card will facilitate entry and expedite document processing at U.S. land and sea ports-of-entry when arriving from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda. The card may not be used for travel by air. It will otherwise carry the rights and privileges of the U.S. passport book and will be adjudicated to the exact same standards. The Department of State is issuing this passport card in response to the needs of border resident communities for a less expensive and more portable alternative to the traditional passport book.
The Citizenship, Identification and Photograph requirements remain the same when applying for a passport book, a passport card, or both.
Fees for Passport Cards:
- Passport Card Fee payable to the US Department of State
- Check or money order, only.
- $30 for each applicant aged 16 years and older
- $15 for each applicant under age 16
- See here for more information about US Passport Fees and delivery options
