To be considered for the SASS program, an applicant and/or their defense attorney must complete Part 1 of the Referral and Order and the attached Agreement to Participate. The forms should then be forwarded to the prosecuting attorney assigned to the case for review.
The prosecutor will review the case to determine whether the case meets eligibility criteria for the program. Part 2 of the Referral and Order is completed by the assigned prosecutor. If the prosecutor agrees to diversion of the case, the Referral and Order will then be brought before the presiding judge for consideration.
Part 3 of the Referral and Order is to be completed by the presiding judge. Admitted applicants will be contacted by a staff member of Corner Health Center within five (5) business days to schedule an intake appointment.
