The New Human Services Partnership Mini-Grant funding round will occur annually to award 10 grants of up to $40,000 to human service organizations. The main goal of this funding round is to provide smaller organizations who are addressing poverty, racism, and trauma as a root cause of institutional inequity in Washtenaw County an opportunity to receive funding.

  • Total funding round allocation is $407,707
  • We estimate of 10 grants at $40,000 each for one year
  • Organizations with overall budgets of $1 million or less are eligible to apply
  • Goal for grantees is to have 60% with leaders with underrepresented identities

Proposal Requirements

RFP submissions will be accepted from Friday, January 12 through Friday, February 16, 2024.

The application will be much shorter than the Safety-Net Grant funding round and include questions to help reviewers learn:

  • The name of the program/project, description, and budget for the program/project being funded
  • Organization background such as age, history, and mission/vision, and experience
  • How the Mini-Grant funding will be used to address poverty, racism, and trauma as a root cause of institutional inequity in Washtenaw County
  • The communities/populations served by the agency and by the additional funding through the Mini-Grant

On December 7, 2022, the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners passed Resolution 22-244: A Resolution Approving the Final Recommendation of Award Recipients for RFP 8358 "2022 New Human Services Partnership Mini-Grants", approving one-year mini-grants for the following organizations:

  • Coalition for Re-envisioning Our Safety/Care Based Safety ($40,000)
