Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission is made up of 34 Nature Preserves and 6 Facilities. Volunteer projects include removing invasive species, collecting seed, leading nature walks, maintaining garden beds, monitoring wildlife like birds and salamanders, helping with special events, and more!
We strive to provide activities that will directly benefit the landscape while enhancing the experience for the volunteer and park visitors. Volunteers not only give back to the community and help the environment but can also learn techniques, get exercise, connect with like-minded people, and explore new places.
Groups are Welcome
We look forward to organizing an event for your group. Opportunities are available for all group sizes, age ranges and ability levels. To get started, please fill out a group interest form, and we will follow-up shortly afterwards to start planning.
Are you a Scout looking to do a final project? Do you need to complete a certain number of hours for community service? Is there a park or project you’re passionate about? Please reach out to us - we would love to work with you and explore your ideas!
