How to Transport Your Material
Review our packaging instructions to stay safe when transporting hazardous materials.
The Washtenaw County Home Toxics Center is in the back parking lot of 705 N Zeeb Road, Ann Arbor. The facility is located between the Washtenaw County Road Commission and Scio Township Hall.
See the map below for detailed directions.
Never drop-off toxic materials without a County employee to assist you. Leaving toxic materials outside the collection area fence or anywhere in the parking lot is illegal and strictly prohibited.
The safety of our staff and residents is our top priority. The Home Toxics Center may close due to severe weather such as hail, lightning, and thunder. The center will remain closed for 30 minutes after hearing the last sound of thunder. Additionally, the center will close when a National Weather Service warning is in effect.
If the center unexpectedly closes, residents who have a scheduled appointment will be notified and offered an opportunity to reschedule.
The National Weather Service may issue warnings for severe conditions related to:
- Heat
- Ice
- Rain
- Snow
- Sleet
- Tornado
- Wind
- etc.
The Home Toxics Center cannot accept medications for disposal, but there are many other locations that can! Visit the Medication Disposal Network to find Washtenaw County locations that accept medications or sharps.
For out-of-county medication or sharps disposal, check out EGLE's Household Drug Take Back Map for locations across the state.
