Soil Erosion & Sedimentation Control Ordinance

In the interest of preventing environmental harm caused by sedimentation and erosion; and to provide for, and as authorized by, the orderly and uniform administration of the soil erosion and sedimentation control provision of the State of Michigan and in particular Part 91, Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, Act 451 of Public Acts of 1994, as amended, being Section 324.9123a of the Complied Laws of 1948 (Michigan Statues Annotated 13.A 101-13A9123a), and the Administrative Rules promulgated by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and in particular, Rule 323.1701 to Rule 323.1714; the County of Washtenaw, Michigan does hereby adopt the following Ordinance.

TLDR: Soil pollution is a real problem.  The State has passed laws to protect the environment.  To comply with State laws, we have created a local SESC ordinance.
