County Clean-Up Days
This year, registration will be required to attend any County Clean-Up Day event. This change will allow us to better serve residents by spacing out event traffic arrival time. This strategy will significantly reduce wait times and reduce carbon emissions caused by idling cars at events.
Registration for each event will open 6 weeks before the event and close 1 week before the event, or when all slots are filled.

Packing Tips
- Make your trip smoother and help the event more efficiently by strategically packing vehicles.
- Pack vehicles so the materials most easily reachable are those to be unloaded first by referencing the flow of traffic in the map of the event you plan to attend.
- Event maps can be found in your registration confirmation email.
- Please only bring materials you can unload in 20 minutes or less to help keep our lines moving efficiently
Make a Contribution
These events are FREE!
However, there is a suggested donation of $15 per car to assist in disposal costs. Additional donations are appreciated for some items:
- Residents may bring up to 4 tires; a $5 donation is suggested for each additional tire.
- Residents can also bring 1 freon appliance; a $10 donation is suggested for each additional item.
Cash and check donations are accepted at the Clean-Up Days at the event's check-in station. Make checks payable to Washtenaw County.
Volunteering

We rely on the help of volunteers to run a smooth event for the community!
Volunteers primarily help direct traffic and unload materials from resident cars. We provide volunteers with a t-shirt, snacks, drinks, and lunch.
Volunteers do not need to fill out the event registration to drop off materials at the event. However, volunteers do need to sign up for a shift to volunteer.
