Addressing Public Safety Through Alleviating Jail Overcrowding
"Rebuilding Lives for a Safe Community: Our Responsibility"
The CJCC has been meeting monthly to confront and comprehend the complex issues of justice and to make recommendations to the County Board of Commissioners. The group has focused on developing strategies to alleviate jail overcrowding.
This three-pronged strategy is explained in Washtenaw County Administrator Bob Guenzel's Recommendations on Public Safety (PDF), which has received unanimous support from the CJCC. Documents and Websites cited in the footnote section of the Administrator's Draft Proposal are available through the footnotes.
