Emergency Medical Services Commission

Meetings are as called by the Chair. Meetings are held at the Washtenaw County Emergency Operations Center.

Hazardous Materials Response Team Authority Board
The Hazardous Materials Response Team Authority Board for Washtenaw and Adjacent Communities was created to assist contracting local fire departments.

Homeland Security Task Force
The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners created a Homeland Security Task Force to coordinate all county homeland security activities with federal, state, and local governments; to assess terrorism risks, response capabilities and needed improvements; to develop community guidance and emergency response procedures; and to make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners about utilization of federal and state homeland security grant funds for domestic preparedness equipment and training.

Local Emergency Planning Committee
Members representing the Board of Commissioners receive a per diem and mileage reimbursement. Other members serve without reimbursement.

Medical Control Authority Board
Our medical control authority is responsible for overseeing the emergency medical services in Washtenaw and Livingston Counties. This system includes two advanced life support agencies, 26 fire departments and one medical helicopter service.
