Message from Gregory Dill, Washtenaw County Administrator
It is truly an honor to serve as your County Administrator. I have been in public service for over 20 years, 10 of which have been with Washtenaw County. I have spent most of my time at the County in Administration and Support Services, and prior to becoming the County’s Administrator in November of 2016, I served as the Director of Infrastructure Management. I have been a proud resident of Washtenaw County for 35 years and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else!
I am proud to be a part of an organization built upon Guiding Principles, Core Competencies and a vision of being world class. I plan to expand the knowledge and experience which has enabled this organization to become a world class service provider. I will uphold this legacy by reminding myself and my team, every day, why we’re here - steadfast dedication to serving the public and a commitment to excellence. These core values have helped us recover from challenging economic times and put us back on the path of success where we will continue to excel.
My focus for the near term of this organization will be on continued fiscal stability while providing the best possible services to our citizens. This includes working closely with our Community Mental Health Department to navigate through a changing structure while continuing to provide critical services to our community. I will also be diligently working with my team and the Board of Commissioners for possible solutions to our legacy costs and aging infrastructure.
In any organization, the employees are the engine that drives the machine. This is especially true in our organization. Without their commitment to excellence we would not be able to provide the best possible services to our community. I will work on improving our framework for recruitment, staff development, and staff retention. The staff is the very backbone of our organization and I want to make sure we are giving them the tools they need to succeed and to ensure Washtenaw County is an organization that attracts the best and brightest talent.
Throughout the duration of my term as your Washtenaw County Administrator, I vow to make a positive and lasting impact on both the organization and our community. I want to thank the residents of Washtenaw County, the Board of Commissioners, and the employees of our world class organization for their outpouring of support and assistance in making this a seamless transition. I look forward to working together to make a difference in our community!
