Since 2001, Washtenaw County's Natural Areas Preservation Program (NAPP) has protected sensitive and ecologically significant lands around the County. The bulk of this land is owned and maintained by the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission as NAPP nature preserves. The NAPP preserves are open to the public year-round, from dawn until dusk, where you can enjoy walking, bird-watching, sketching, and quietly experiencing nature.
